Kangpokpi police, scribe, social worker honoured

Kangpokpi, October 08 2021:
Certificates of appreciation were awarded to Kangpokpi police, a locaf senior journalist and a social worker during the 66th Wildlife Week celebration in Kangpokpi for their contributions towards conservation of forest and wildlife in the district.
Winners of various competitions conducted by Kangpokpi Forest Division in connection with the week-long celebration were also given prizes during an event held at Parizeau Maranatha Academy, Kangpokpi district headquarters.
James Doujapao Haokip, chief executive officer Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, and Chinpilhing Kipgen, DFO Kangpokpi were respectively chief guest and functional president of the event which was also attended by Lhingneikim Kipgen, ZEO Kangpokpi, and Gary Touthang, administrative secretary Parizeau Maranatha Academy as guests of honour.
As part of the weeklong celebration, the forest division had conducted an online slogan writing competition in two categories, an essay, writing for students of class IX to XII and a quiz competition for students of class VI to VIII.
The winners in all the competitions were given prizes during the celebration.
In the online slogan writing for Class IX to XII, Chongnunkim Khongsai of Eklavya Model Residential School, Gamnom Saparmeina secured the first prize, while Nengnunhoi Kipgen and Rahakhonai S of the same school bagged the second and third prize respectively.
Lenpithang Chongloi and Jeffrey Letminlen of MBC Hr Sec School received consolation prizes.
In the category of Class V to VIII, Thanggouhao Kipgen and Lamboichong Khongsai of Eklavya Model Residential School were first and second position winners respectively while Tracy Lhingboichong of MBC Hr Sec School bagged the third prize, with Deepak Chapagai of PMA and Lamgoulen Khongsai of HM Hr Sec School getting the consolation prizes.
In the essay writing competition, Nempichong Misao (Class X) and Ngamngaisang Lunkim (Class IX) of Diamond English High School were declared winners of the first and the second position respectively while Paominson Lotzem (Class IX) of PMA came in third position.
In the quiz competition, Thanggoulal Touthang and Paogunlen Kipgen of Elite Hr Sec School won the first prize, while Chongchoithem Kipgen and Manggouhao Kipgen of Diamond English High School and Parash Sherpa and John Thangminsang Haokip of PMA shared the second position.
Roshan Kumar of KT Hr Sec School came in third.
Local senior journalist Kaybie Chongloi, ATSUM's Youth Affairs Secretary, Lamcha Chongloi, and Kangpokpi police were also awarded a certificate of appreciation each for their contribution towards the preservation and conservation of forest and wildlife in the district.
