Imphal, October 08 2021:
Republican Party of India - Athawale (RPI-A) state president Maheshwar Thounaojam, who would be contesting the 2022 state assembly election from Keishamthong assembly constituency, has assured of bringing socio-economic development to every family in the constituency if he gets elected.
While opening offices of men's and women's election committees of RPI-A in Keishamthong AC polling station number 12/29 Thangjam Leirak on Friday, Maheshwar said that none of the elected representatives from Keishamthong AC, which is located in the heart of Imphal city, took up any development initiatives for the constituency.
Road condition and drainage system are bad in the constituency and there is no proper provision for tap water connection.
The constituency is one of the least developed constituencies in the surrounding areas, he said.
Maheshwar also confided that the committee offices being opened ahead of the elections will be converted into development committee offices after winning the election in order to identify the core issues faced by each locality so that the right solutions could be worked out.
Later in the afternoon, Maheshwar felicitated cyclist activist Rohan Philem, who is on a campaign for free and fair election.
It is good to see youth coming out to campaign for a free and fair election, he said and assured of full support from his side to the campaign.
Rohan Philem, who would be carrying the message of free and fair election in all the 60 assembly constituencies of the state, thanked Maheshwar for his encouragement.
