Covid claims 6 more lives, infects 128

Covid-19 claimed six more lives in the state as government bulletins on Friday reported 128 new positive cases out of 2418 samples tested.
The positivity rate was 5.29 per cent against 4.33 per cent recorded on Thursday.
The active caseload decreased to 1683 as 191 patients were discharged from home isolation (65), JNIMS (22) and CCCs (104) in the last 24 hours.
Of the active cases 246 (14.62 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is neither report on the number of patients undergoing treatment in different facilities or in isolation, nor the number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support.
As of Friday evening, 547 beds including 118 ICU/HDU beds are available in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy in other facilities.
So far, the state has recorded 92,306 positive cases and 1508 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month saw an addition of 1122 new positive cases and 27 fatalities out of which 963 new cases and 24 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 128 new positive cases (68 male & 60 female) are from among the general population and their samples were detected at RIMS (4), JNIMS (15) and other testing centres (109) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (20), Imphal West (70), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (4), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur (4), Chandel (6), Senapati (1), Tengnoupal (1), Kangpokpi (2), Jiribam (3) and Noney (2) .
The six fatalities reported in the last 24 hours were from Imphal East (1), Imphal West (2), Thoubal (1) and Ukhrul (2) .
None of them had received Covid-19 vaccine and two did not have any cor-morbid conditions.
With the six new death cases, the cumulative number of deaths due to Covid-19 in the state has reached 1882.The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,21,706 (general population -1,17,405 and CAPF personnel - 4,301).Number of recovered cases is 1,18,141 (general population - 1,13,868 and CAPF personnel - 4,273) and number of active cases is 1,683 (general population - 1,660 and CAPF personnel - 23) .
The recovery rate is 97.07 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 986 D-type and 196 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
Only 4289 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday and the cumulative number of vaccinated people has reached 12,29,462, which included 5,24,332 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (42,142), Imphal East (26,911), Thoubal (9366), Churachandpur (10,076), Kangpokpi (2765), Tamenglong (3269), Bishnupur (9060), Senapati (2211), Ukhrul (2806), Kakching (6357), Chandel (2297), Noney (1064), Tengnoupal (1047), Jiribam (1020), Kamjong (869) and Pherzawl (446) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (628), Imphal East (444), Thoubal (171), Churachandpur (159), Kangpokpi (59), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (188), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (36), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (2), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,222 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,288 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,25,663 tests per million population against the national average of 4,15,158 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2418 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 5.29 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.21 per cent.
