Floral tributes paid to freedom fighter Angou

Imphal, November 30 2022:
Freedom Fighter Thokchom Angou Memorial Committee paid respect to freedom fighter Thokchom Angou by paying floral tributes to his photo during an event held at Ngakraba Mandap, Chingamathak on Wednesday.
In a release, the Committee said life of Thokchom Angou can be dissected into two, namely pre-independence and post-independence.
He was the first Manipuri to show evidence of being a leader of the first troop of INA in 1944 at Rangoon, Burma.
Subash Chandra Bose personally offered garland to Angou and gave the title 'Pradhanji'.
In post-independence, Angou was a leader in Satyagraha Andolan (1947) for a full responsible government, it added.
