Kakching, November 30 2022:
ICHAM former president Nongthombam Rajendro has urged doctors and private hospitals to focus on treating patients instead of just focusing making profits.
He made the statement while inaugurating the house of a 9-year-old kidney patient who underwent free treatment at JNIMS with the support of the Chief Minister, on Tuesday.
The story of the orphaned 9-year-old girl from Hiyanglam Hiranmei had gone viral on social media platform and attracted the interest of the CM.
Rajendro, who is also the younger brother of the CM, remarked that it is unfortunate to learn of some private hospitals demanding money before treating patients and as such, urged for treating the patients first.
He also urged doctors to help the people have trust on government hospitals, instead of habitually referring cases to private hospitals.
He then observed the need for setting specific rooms for kidney patients in hospitals offering dialysis services, while adding the newly inaugurated house was constructed as per the instruction of the CM.
Meanwhile, Hiyanglam GP ex-pradhan Elangbam Santibala appreciated the gesture of the CM towards the young orphan.
