Imphal, November 30 2022:
The State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the Congress party of spreading falsehood to slander the image of the ruling party.
Speaking to media persons at Thambal Shanglen at Keishampat Nityaipat Chuthek today, BJP, Manipur Pradesh vice president Ch Chidananda said that the Congress doesn't acknowledge the development works taken up so far under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh and the same is unfortunate.
Claiming that the Congress party has been spreading falsehood pertaining to implementation of PMGSY projects with the sole objective of defaming BJP, he maintained that PMGSY projects have many phases and stages and they are to be implemented by following a set of guidelines.
"If they (the Congress) want to learn about the details of the projects they may go through the web portal OMMAS," Chidananda added.
Continuing that the Congress party, however, is raising unfounded allegations based on hearsay and without possessing the genuine data, he maintained that the engineers and contractors of RED have already clarified about the road project connecting Noney and Nungnang village.
Chidananda further claimed that the people of Manipur will never give credence to the falsehood being spread by Congress.
Appealing to the Opposition party to give constructive criticism instead of 'raising unfounded allegations,' he added that BJP will not protect any engineers or contractors if they are found guilty of misconduct while implementing developmental projects.
