Imphal, November 30 2022:
While informing that Urup Higher Secondary School is filled with inadequacies right from teaching staff to infrastructure, Pangal Students' Organisation (PSO) cautioned of halting conduct of classes and resorting to various forms of agitation if the government fails to address the inadequacies within December 10 .
In a release, PSO Manipur publicity secretary Pukhrimayum Sharif informed that the organisation inspected Urup Higher Secondary School (Class nursery to Class XII) and found 716 students enrolled in the school while only 18 teachers and one non-teaching staff are posted in the school.
While terming as deplorable that the school has no science instrument or item in the laboratory, the secretary said shortage of teaching staff for subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Home Science, Political Science, Computer Science, Economic Science, Economics, History and Manipuri has rendered meaningless purpose of its existence.
He also ridiculed the government for not posting a teacher for Manipuri subject in the school despite its claims of working for the promotion of Manipuri language.
