Doctors stage relay hunger strike in Churachandpur

Churachandpur, November 30 2022:
Responding to the call by All Manipur Health Service Doctors' Association (AMHSDA) for staging relay hunger strike, doctors in Churachandpur district carried out a hunger relay strike on Wednesday from 11:39 am at the district hospital's campus.
During the day-long agitation, AMHSDA president Dr Lolee P Mao highlighted the difficulties faced by doctors particularly those posted in remote areas and said that the doctors will not relent until their demands are honoured.
In a memorandum submitted earlier to the chief minister, the AMHSDA had warned of resorting to a series of agitation if the government fails to grant their demands with effect from December 5, 2022 .
AMHSDA's demands include time bound promotion, enhancement of service superannuation age to 65 years, creation of director general post to supervise Health Services, Family Welfare Services, Public Health and Medical Education; granting of NPA fixation with effect from January 1, 2016 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission for the Manipur Health Services doctors, strict adherence to transfer and posting policy of Health Services Rule 2017, implementation of proposed MHS Rules 2020 and amend ments, provision of risks and difficult area posting allowances among others.
