Language training prog postponed

The Directorate of Language Planning and Implementation (DLPI) has postponed the proposed two-month long local language training programme for seven ethnic languages of the state, which was scheduled to begin from Thursday.
A statement issued in this regard by DLPI director L Nan-dakumar informed that the new date, timing and venue will be notified later.
However, it did not mention any reason for the postponement.
Mention maybe made here that DLPI took up the initiative of providing training programme on seven select ethnic languages of the state to promote better communication, inter-personal relation and emotional integrity among the communities.
The seven ethnic languages offered for training are Anal, Paite, Ruangmei, Poumai, Tangkhul, Thadou-Kuki and Manipuri (Meeteilon).
The directorate allso announced monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 to each participant upon successful completion of the training programme.
