AR foils bid to smuggle contrabands

Imphal, September 19 2022:
Somsai Battalion of IGAR (South) foiled cross border smuggling of contrabands in Senapati district on Monday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that based on credible intelligence, a check post was established at Ngari Wonphrou village which intercepted suspicious movement of five trucks loaded with some suspicious items.
On thorough search, contraband items that included black peppers and other spices were recovered.
The recovered items were assessed to be worth Rs 2.75 crore, it added.
The recovered items have been handed over to Tadubi police station, Senapati district for further investigation,
it added.
