Tributes paid to Manipuri war heroes

Imphal, September 19 2022:
A six-member team of Preservation Committee of Deported Manipuri War Heroes in Andaman & Nicobar Islands visited Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and offered floral tributes to the heroes of 1891 Anglo-Manipuri War including King Kullachandra on Sunday.
The team was led by committee president Tomba and other members are RK Sanahanbi, Thongam Shyama Khaba, W Luwangleima, K London and Ch Dhaneswori.
The team offered tributes at Goodwill Estate in Port Blair, where the committee has been demanding to construct a museum and a guesthouse in honour of the Manipuri war heroes.
The team also met officials of department concerned of Andaman & Nicobar Islands for allotting the required land plot for construction of the museum and a guesthouse.
They were accorded a warm welcome by the government officials, who expressed their support for the project.
