FoH sees red over assault

Condemning the assault of four Tangkhul girls by a mob at Kwakeithel on May 24, the Federation of Haomee has urged the Government to take up legal action against the perpetrators.
In a statement signed by its secretary publicity Dr Khomdon Lisham, the Federation said that the group or people who instigated the mob at Kwakeithel need to clarify.
It asserted that the people of Manipur must be wary of the section of people who cannot differentiate their blood relations and foes to prevent unnecessary misunderstanding.
The Federation also said that Anal, Aimol, Chiru, Chothe, Inpui, Kom, Kabui, Kharam, Khoibu, Koireng, Liangmai, Lamkang, Maram, Mao, Moyon, Monsang, Maring, Purum, Paomei, Rongmei, Tangkhul, Thangal, Tarou, Zemi are indigenous people of Manipur and attacking them is akin to attacking their own brothers and sisters.
Claiming that some people also attacked the vehicle of its convenor and president while the convenor of Coordinating Committee of Club & Meira Paibi of South Eastern, Thoubal was assaulted at Naodokhong yesterday, the Federation said that people who are taking part in the movement to protect the State must be very sensitive.
The Federation went on to claim that Kuki militants are trying to depict the Kom people in the wrong light by setting up their camp at Kangathei in Bishnupur after driving out the locals from the Kom village.
