NPF almost ready with list

The Naga People's Front (NPF) is almost ready to announce the list of its candidates for the 12th Manipur Assembly elections which will be conducted in two phases.
According to a functionary of the NPF, the party is likely to field candidates in at least 16 Assembly Constituencies including Jiribam.
Reportedly, 45 forms have already been taken from the party's office to contest from Phungyar (3), Ukhrul (3), Chingai (5), Chandel (4), Tengnoupal (4), Tamenglong (1), Tamei (1), Karong (6), Tadubi (3), Mao (2), Jiribam (1), Saikul (2), Saitu (1), Kangpokpi (2), Henglep (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
Aspiring candidates from Keirao and Langthabal also came to take NPF tickets but were denied the same, according to the party's functionary.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, convenor of the NPF ticket committee, MP Lorho S Pfoze said that the party will likely release the list of candidates by January 25 .
Saying that the process of issuing tickets is pending only for Karong, Tadubi and Chandel ACs, Dr Lorho continued that the party is thoroughly revising the ticket preparation to avoid mistakes.
A last meeting of the party's ticket committee will be convened at Kohima before taking the final decision on January 24, he said and added that already four meetings of such kind have been convened earlier to field candidates with prospects.
The candidates list might be released on the day of the final meeting itself (January 24) or the following day, the MP maintained.
