Senapati, January 21 2022:
The Naga People's Organization (NPO) has come out strongly against the disturbance of the peaceful environment and ongoing development activities carried out in Senapati district.
A release signed by NPO president, Solomon Arow and general secretary, Jonah Mao K stated that NPO Senapati is outraged by several incidents in the recent past, like hurling of hand grenades at NHIDCL office, Senapati and demand letters served to them by unidentified elements.
While affirming the executive Council meeting and Presidential meeting resolution against such disturbance of developmental programmes in the district by any individual, group, organization or faction, NPO condemned the serving of demand letters and harassment of personnel working at the developmental front.
When the State is going through a hard time due to Covid-19, the need to support those at the work front are paramount as they are doing a commendable job for the development of the society, it added.
The organisation also expressed its displeasure over the disturbances caused by certain sections of the society in the otherwise serene and peaceful environment of the district.
NPO further appealed to all the individual, group or organization to desist from recurring activities that hampers development and progress of the society and embark on building a progressive and peaceful society.
If any group, organization or faction disturbs development projects in the district against the existing NPO executive and Presidential Council resolution, they shall be treated as anti development and anti people, it concluded.
