CM Delhi-bound to finalise ticket issue

In connection with the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election, the Election Committee of BJP convened a meeting with the party's national leaders on Friday while chief minister N Biren is scheduled to dash to the national capital on Saturday to finalise allotment of tickets with central leaders.
After the meeting of the Election Committee a team led by BJP Manipur Election in-charge Bhupender Yadav left for New Delhi with a compiled list of intending candidates.
The meeting was held at the office chamber of the Chief Minister around 11am on Friday and was attended by Bhupender Yadav, Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra and North East in-charge Ajay Jamwal.
During the meeting, the prospects of the intending candidates for the upcoming polls were discussed.
As some constituencies had multiple intending candidates, a three-candidate list for such constituencies and a two-candidate list for constituencies with lesser number of intending candidates were prepared.
The lists were collected by national leaders Bhupendra Yadav and Ajay Jamwal, both of whom later left for New Delhi.
Bhupendra Yadav and Ajay Jamwal had arrived here around 11 am for the meeting, which continued till 3pm.The list of the intending candidates was prepared after multiple rounds of discussion.
The party ticket list is likely to be announced after January 25.On the other hand, although many people from other political parties are joining BJP, others who have not yet done so may join the party if they are given the party tickets.
The list will be again finalised by the parliamentary board, after which the final list of candidates will be announced, sources conveyed.
The party's state ticket committee consists of BJP Manipur Pradesh state president A Sharda, CM N Biren Singh, ex-presidents Th Chaoba and Kh Bhabananda, minister Th Biswajit, speaker Y Khemchand, Lok Sabha MP RK Ranjan, Rajya Sabha MP Sanajaoba Leishemba, ex-MLA K Govindas, ex-cabinet minister T Hangkhanlian, ex-state vice president Kikon-bou Newmai, state executive member Yanglen Haokip, state general secretary L Deben and Mahila Morcha state president L Loteeka Leima as ex-officio members.
