Training programme on 'Two shaft loom' held at Konthoujam

Imphal, January 21 2022:
A ten-day upskilling training programme on 'Two shaft loom' jointly organised by Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati and Wild Forest Institute of Skill Development was kicked off today at IIE Business Incubation Centre, Konthoujam, Imphal East.
The training programme was organised under the sponsorship of National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation.
Speaking on the occasion, Konthoujam Thoiba, president All Manipur Progressive Farmers' Association said that the training programme will be beneficial to the handloom weavers of the State.

Stating that the training might provide a source of livelihood to the unemployed, Konthoujam Thouba urged the youths to refrain from simply pursuing Government jobs and encouraged them to try their hands in various fields.
Karam Ashnikanta, proprietor Wild Forest Institute of Skill Development remarked that the training programme was conducted to ensure that handloom weavers without proper certificates receive their due certification so that they may go on to pursue bigger and better things.
50 trainees participated in the training programme.
