EVM randomisation complete, strong room sealed

Churachandpur, January 21 2022:
On completion of the AC-Wise physical sorting of EVMs and VVPATs after the first randomisation in connection with the ensuing election to Manipur Legislative Assembly, 2022, the Strong Room located at the Ground Floor of Old DC Office building, Tuibong was closed and sealed on Friday.
The process was done by the additional deputy commissioner and additional district election officer Yumnam Nelson in the presence of representatives of political parties and other officials involved in election process of both Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts.
The randomisation process was carried out through EVM Management System (EMS) software after which all the EVMs, which include Control Unit (CU), Ballot Unit (BU) and VVPAT machines were allotted to the 6 assembly constituencies of the districts and subsequently as per guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI), a set of first randomization of EVM and WPAT sheet was handed over to all representatives of the political parties.
Based on the requirement and availability, the randomisation was done for 519 EVMs and 558 WPATs for Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts with 40 61 percent reserved for the six constituencies.
The randomisation process is a part of the EC's guidelines to prevent any possible misuse or procedural lapses in use of EVM and VVPAT during the upcoming election.
Meanwhile, a virtual district nodal officers' meeting was also held wherein DEO Pawan Yadav reviewed the progress of works done by respective DNOs in their respective task.
