Refrain from charging extra fees for form fill up, urges AIMS

Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) has appealed to all private schools in the State to refrain from charging extra fees for form fill up for the upcoming Class X and XII board examinations.
AIMS in a press release has expressed concern to find that extra fees for form fill up are being charged from the students for the upcoming Class X and Class XII board exams which will be conducted by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) and Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) above the fees which have been set already.
The student body informed that the set fees for form fill up for Class X and XII is Rs 2400 and Rs 2350 respectively and for science practical it will be Rs 250 per subject.
Further AIMS also asserted to check on the schools where unreasonable fees have been charged and also compelling the students to join coaching classes conducted by the respective schools and to stay in their boarding facilities failing which they are being told to pay fines or refraining them from form fill up and so on.
The student body also appealed to all concerned schools to return the extra fees to the students within two to three days by issuing a notice in this regard.
In regards to numerous schools which are being established in every nook and corner of the State, AIMS has urged the authorities concerned to formulate special policies to control and manage schools at the earliest.
Lastly the student body also sought cooperation and support from all in its initiative which will be taken up in the interest of the student community in the State.
