Imphal, May 15 2014 :
Claiming that BJP-led NDA would form Government at the Centre, BJP State unit president Th Chaoba has stated that Congress party should reap what they sowed.
On being asked whether BJP candidates from Manipur can be a part of the NDA Government, Chaoba said that they must wait for the election result.
Addressing a press meet ahead of tomorrow's vote counting, Th Chaoba claimed that NDA would form the next Government at the Centre.
He also ruled out any possibility of UPA retaining power or a third front coming to power.
Claiming that BJP would secure both the Lok Sabha seats of Manipur, Chaoba said in case BJP cannot win either of the two or both the Lok Sabha seats, it would be because of large scale rigging, booth capturing, proxy voting and use of excessive muscle and money power by ruling Congress party in Inner Manipur P/C and NPF in Outer Manipur P/C .
Although NPF and Congress party indulged in all kinds of electoral malpractices, the CEO covered up the facts and sent a report to the ECI in favour of the ruling party.
That was why no repoll was held.
Even if BJP candidates cannot win the Lok Sabha election, it would still be a moral victory for the party.
BJP would certainly secure much greater votes this time as compared to the Assembly elections of 2009 and 2012, Chaoba said.
Congress party's 66 years old vote bank consolidated in the name of secularism has now vanished.
BJP's primary agenda of development and good governance is fast gaining widespread popularity.
Once NDA comes to power, the State Govt which survives on Centre's allocations and assistance would suffer a lot.
Even though Congress party was in power almost 15 years, it could not build any reliable resource base or the necessary infrastructure nor it could formulate any income generating economic policy.
Now the Congress party must reap what it sowed.
Conveying that he has been invited to a meeting of BJP State unit presidents at Delhi on May 17, Chaoba said that he would raise certain proposals for taking over of Loktak Project by the State, construction of Imphal-Jiribam highway and an effective policy for ensuring round the year availability of potable water to public.
Instituting enquiries into denial of hundred days work to MGNREGS and phumdi removal project of Loktak lake would also be put up at the meeting, he added.
