RPF/PLA claims successful assaults

People's Liberation Army (PLA), the armed wing of the proscribed Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) today claimed to have launched successful attacks, inflicting heavy casualties on security forces at Churachandpur and Ukhrul districts yesterday.
In a statement, Bangkim, chief of Department of Publicity, RPF, said the attacks were launched as part of 'Operation Leopard of the outfit.
The first assault was carried out near Taikotang village under Singhat subdivision of Churachandpur district at around 6 am on May 14.A combined fighting group from PLA's unit, Department and Station attacked a foot patrol party of 25-Madrasa Regiment, B-Coy at a place close to Taikotang village, inflicting heavy casualties on Indian soldiers, it claimed.
In the second attack, a column of 44-Assam Rifles was attacked by another fighting group from PLA's Demolition Unit at Kangpat Khullen area of Kamjong subdivision in Ukhrul district at about 8:30 am.
In the assault, a number of security personnel were wounded, it further claimed.
