Electoral fate of 18 candidates to be known today

The electoral fate of all candidates contested for the two Lok Sabha seats of Inner and Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituencies will be known tomorrow.
The much awaited electoral results of the multi-pronged contests will be out by 2 pm tomorrow, official sources said Friday.
The Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency went to poll on April 9 while for the Inner on April 17 .
In the two-phased polls in the State, eight aspirants including one Independent candidate are in the fray for the Inner seat while ten candidates, including two Independents vied for the Outer seat.
Congress heavyweight and sitting MP Dr T Meinya, Dr M Nara of CPI, Dr RK Ranjan of BJP, S Manaobi of Trinamool Congress, Dr Kh Ibomcha of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), O Jotin of Jay Mahabharat Party (JMP), G Tonsana of Manipur Democratic People's Front (MDPF) and Independent candidate O Indira Devi contested for the lone Inner seat.
For the Outer seat, former MP and president of Manipur unit of Trinamool Congress Kim Gangte, Prof Gangmumei Kamei of BJP, C Doungel of NCP, Congress stalwart and sitting MP Thangso Baite, Soso Lorho of Naga People's Front (NPF), K Zou of AAP, Lien Gangte of JD-U, Independent candidates A Sankhil and former MP Mani Cheranamei, and Lamlaimoi Gangte of CPI (M/L) are in the fray.
Meanwhile, the current tenure of the 15th Lok Sabha ends on May 31 and the formation of the next Government at the Centre for the 16th Lok Sabha is likely to take place in the first week of next month.
Most exit polls conducted by national media have predicted a massive win for the BJP in the national elections, while speculating that the saffron party and its allies are going to form the next Government at the Centre under the leadership of its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
The BJP has begun making efforts to find suitable candidates for various ministerial posts, the national media have reported.
