Imphal, May 15 2014 :
Claiming that Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh-led Congress Government in the State would fall not long after the NDA forms the next Government at the Centre, State unit of BJP on Friday alleged that the Congress was heading for defeat in the national elections because of wrong interpretation and misuse of secularism.
State BJP president Th Chaoba told journalists here that the Indian National Congress (INC) has been in power for decades at the Centre by means of politicizing secularism and dubbing BJP an anti-Muslim and anti-Christian party.
But the Congress would be routed this time as the electorates have realized the misdeeds of Congress party, Chaoba claimed.
It would be a good lesson for the Congress which has been cheating the people for nearly 66 years, the former MP further claimed.
Refuting speculations that a Third Front Government may come up at the Centre, Chaoba said the exit polls have predicted the BJP led NDA will form the next Government.
Everyone is now expecting a new development and good governance at the Centre under NDA rule, he said.
He alleged that the Congress Government headed by Ibobi has always ignored infrastructural development and failed to take steps to enhance resource.
The Ibobi Government has been surviving on the Centre's assistance and hence it would suffer hardships after the NDA Government comes to power at the Centre, he asserted.
Meanwhile, Chaoba informed that he would be heading for New Delhi on May 17 to attend a meeting convened by national BJP leadership.
He said that during his visit to the national capital, BJP leader Narendra Modi, who is expected to become the next Prime Minister, will be urged to implement his promise to develop the Imphal-Jiribam road into a modern highway besides his commitment to give first priority on electricity, water and education in Manipur.
"I'm quite confident that BJP will come out victorious in the two Parliamentary seats of Inner and Outer in Manipur as well," Chaoba said.
However, he added that if the prediction turns out wrong in respect of Outer when the results of the national elections are out tomorrow, then it would be an outcome of mismanagement of polls by Naga People's Front (NPF) .
In case of Inner, ruling Congress's electoral malpractices would the main reason for the defeat of BJP, he maintained.
