The proscribed RPF has claimed that its armed wing PLA attacked security forces at two different places last morning.
According to a press release issued by the outfit's department of publicity chief Bangkim, the first attack was carried by a team of PLA scouts targeting troops of 25 Madras Regiment, B-Coy near Taikotang village under Singhat sub-division of Churachandpur district at around 6 am.
The attack caused huge casualty and the injured military personnel were airlifted in two helicopters.
The second attack was carried out by a demolition team of PLA against troops of 44 AR near Kangpat Khullen under Kamjong sub-division of Ukhrul district at around 8.30 am.
The AR troops were returning to their camp when the demolition team triggered a powerful blast.
The Indian military suffered huge casualty in the second attack too.
Before these attack, PLA's 252 Mobile Battalion attacked troops of 1/11 GR at a place between Zou Khumon and Taikotang villages of Singhat sub-division, Churachandpur district at around 5 pm of April 4 leaving two military personnel seriously injured.
It also listed a series of successful strikes undertaken by different units of PLA in the recent past.
It mentioned the attack against 21 AR at Sajik Tampak on January 26, 44 AR at Ningchou village, Ukhrul district on February 8, against 24 AR at Kambang Khullen, Chandel district on March 11, etc., to underscore the outfit's relentless campaign against security forces.
