Proper parental guidance and care have proved to be the 'success formula' for Linthoibi Soram, who secured second position in this year's HSLC examination.
Daughter of Dr Soram Ingocha Singh and Soram (Ongbi) Sunita Devi of Uripok Haorungbam Leikai Kombirei Keithel, Linthoibi is a student of Nirmalabas School, Imphal.
Linthoibi, who secured an impressive 471 marks out of the total 500 marks, credited her achievement to her mother saying that her mother's soothing parenting and taking proper care of all her needs have proved to be a 'success formula' at the end of the day.
However, Linthoibi also said that she got lots of inspiration from her father as well revealing her aim in life is to become a doctor like her father.
Linthoibi said that she never got private tuition till Class-IX as she had her mother to rely on for any academic ambiguity.

However, in Class X, she got tuition at home to compete with her peers and be well equipped to bring laurel to her school.
Linthoibi added that she devoted about 10 to 14 hours a day in studies when she did not go to school.
Sharing her hobbies as listening to music and reading novels and comic, she told The Sangai Express that Science and Literature are her favourite subjects.
Linthoibi wants to attend a school located near to her home, not to be hampered and distracted from her studies by frequent bandhs and strikes.
Linthoibi's father Ingocha said that mutual understanding and co-operation are needed in every aspects of life and parenting is also not an exception.
Parents' love, care and guidance must be responded with co-operation and hard work by children, Ingocha opined.
Regarding her daughter's brilliance, a visibly pleased and delighted Ingocha said that Linthoibi has been a hard working girl since childhood.
She always secured top rank or second best since she attended school.
Linthoibi's mother Sunita said that she tries to know everything what her daughter likes and does.
It is in the hands of the mothers to guide a child to success, she summed up.
