Imphal, June 12 2022: Keithelmanbi Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted yoga sessions to commemorate the 8th International Yoga Day, 2022 at various locations in Bishnupur, Kamjong and Thoubal districts on Saturday.

In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the event was organised to spread awareness and benefits of yoga among the people with emphasis on flexibility, strength and endurance being achieved through yoga.

Local populace appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles in promoting yoga and urged to organise similar sessions in the future.

Over 100 locals including women, children and youth attended the yoga sessions.

On the other hand, observing Environment Week and continuing with its tree plantation drive the Battalion also organised a tree plantation drive in Thoubal district on Sunday.

Team of Assam Rifles troops along with village Representatives of nearby villages planted around 150 saplings of multiple varieties at various places in Thoubal so as to achieve dual purpose of environment protection arid soil conservation.
