MLA Noorul vows uplift of Sanamahism

Meetei Marup, Meetei Leipak (Manipur) celebrated its 78th foundation day at its Wangkhei Thambalkhong office on Sunday.
Kshetrigao MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan, who attended the event as one of the presidium members, assured that as a legislator he will work for attaining the religious code for Sanama-hi religion.
He maintained that there was downfall of Sanamahi religion with the introduction of Hinduism in the region.
The revival of the ancestral religion is a must, he continued, while lauding the endurance of those visionary ancestors who preserved the ancestral religion amidst the huge impact given by Hinduism.
While assuring to work for attaining the religious code for Sanamahi religion, the MLA maintained that Meetei Pangal community will also help in preserving the ancestral religion of Meetei.
Around 32 communities have been living in the state harmoniously and every community is following their own choice of religion, Noorul Hassan continued, while appealing to every community to respect every other religion.
Two temples of Lain-ingthou Sorarel Shidaba and Ima Leimarel Shidabi were also handed over to the people on the occasion.
