UCM condemns attack

Imphal, October 13 2021:
United Committee Manipur (UCM) has strongly condemned the attack on civilians at B Gamnom village in Kangpokpi district, which left three people including a child dead and several villagers including a toddler injured, and demanded the government to bring those involved in the massacre to justice.
The incident took place on Tuesday forenoon when locals were holding a condolence cum prayer meet for two KNLA cadres from B Gamnom village, who died during a gun fight with security forces earlier on Sunday.
In a statement, UCM informed that a team led by its secretary organisation went to the village on Wednesday and shared the grief and pain of the villagers.
They also provided some ration items to the villagers.
Besides, a relief camp has been set up at the residence of UCM's secretary (human rights and legal affairs) to help the distressed .villagers.
UCM also urged the government to extend helping hands to the villagers so that they could live in peace.
