Myanmar Government releases 23 Indian prisoners

Moreh, October 13 2021:
The government of Myanmar has released 23 Indian prisoners and formally handed over them to the Indian authorities at Tamu-Moreh land border on Wednesday.
Out of the 23 prisoners (22 males and 1 female), 20 are from various districts of Manipur and one prisoner each from Mizoram, UP and MP.
The released prisoners are Satgoulun Misao (21) son of Hangkholun Misao of Tolbung, Letthenpao (31) son of Holthang of Songpi village, Zamkhothang (34) son of Zamkholun of Simual village, Lamkholal alias Lalbem (42) son of Lamkholun of LH Jangnuamphai, Lunkholal (35) son of Jamkhopao of Thingjang, Abel (43) son of Ayo of Wangbi, Abid Hussain (22) son of Siraj Ahmad, Atulkumar Chouksey (28) son of Manaklal Chouksey of Seoni MP, Niluram (29) son of (L) Tandon of Nicham district UP, Nang Do Munga (23) son of Ngenmang of Siseh (Mizoram), Ningkhan Phungsok (22) son of Yarteo Phungsok of Kamjong, Milinium Vashum (20) son of John Bos of Kharam Khullen village, Chuimei Vashumli (18) son of John Bos of Kharam Khullen village, Tlunga (27) son of Famkima of Moreh ward no 3, Hemkhosei (33) son of Letkam of Canaan Veng Moreh, Seiminthang Chongloi (22) son of Jamlun Chongloi of Tuidam village (Chandel), Thongminthang (24) son of Jangpao of Tuidam village, Seikholun (24) son of Thanglun of Changpol village, Ngakte (46) son of Khan Lien, Tingboi (42) daughter of Lamkholun, Malsawmthang (41) son of Lalliena, Rochanglen (42) son of Ruesang and Israel (38) son of Ruesang, all five from Molcham village, Chandel.
It may be mentioned here that officials of governments of Myanmar and India held meeting at ICP Moreh on June 19.During the meeting, the Myanmarese government offered to release 36 Indian prisoners lodged in Kalay Prison.
The Myanmarese delegation was led by commander RCC Kalay U Thant Zin Oo and Indian delegation by Maj General Alok Naresh of IGAR(S).
Nationality verification of 23 out of 36 prisoners has been completed and was released on Wednesday at Tamu-Moreh land border near Moreh town in Tengnoupal district.
The Myanmarese authority led by Immigration Officer Tamu Township namely Aung Kyaw Soe handed over the 23 Indian prisoners to Indian authority at Indo-Myanmar Friendship Bridge, Moreh.
They were received by senior immigration officer YK Anand Singh, SP-LCS Moreh SK Gangte, Inspector LCS Anand and a team of Moreh police led by SI J Baite.
A medical team from Moreh Hospital conducted Covid-19 test on all the 23 Indians and they were found negative.
