Poll activities amid third wave fear worries MSF

Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) celebrated its 23rd foundation day at its Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai head office on Wednesday along with organising a voluntary blood donation camp.
The celebration began with hoisting of MSF flag followed by offering of floral tributes to the photos of deceased MSF leaders and members and observance of two-minute silence.
A total of 20 members of the federation donated blood during the blood donation camp.
Addressing the gathering, MSF president Khangembam Bidyasagar said that the federation was founded on October 13, 1998 at GP Women's College and since its inception working for the cause of student community and the society.
Asserting that efforts to fight for rights of the students will continue in the future too, he also conveyed that the federation will begin assessment of schools under its 'Eikhoi Lairing Ningthina Tamsi' campaign once normalcy returns in the school education sector.
Stringent actions will be taken up against schools, which flout criteria laid down by BSEM and COHSEM, he said.
Observing that state assembly election and 3rd wave of Covid-19 could overlap as per expert opinions and projections, he expressed serious concern over the heightened election activities such as public gathering, meetings and feasts.
He pointed out that the Covid 19 virus is still a threat to human lives and appealed to all concerned to exercise caution in organising election related activities.
Official website of MSF www.msfmanipur.org was also launched during the event.
The website features activities of MSF and will upload information on future activities as well for public knowledge.
MSF presidential committee members Th Udoi Luwang, T Parijat, Pheiroijam Nando Luwang, Sorokhaibam Sanjay, Md Atabuddin, MSF advisors Ngariyambam Milan, O Ashinikumar, Kh Serajuddin, Longjam Umakanta, and former president Md Sazad Bhuiya attended the programme as presidium members.
JIRIBAM: The 23rd Foundation Day of Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) was celebrated in Jiribam by MSF Jiribam district committee Wednesday.
The celebration function held at PWD guest house was attended by All Jiribam United Clubs' Association (AJUCA) president M M.aipaksana as chief guest and MSF Jiribam president Atom Rajib as functional president while All Jiribam Meira Paibi (AJMP) general secretary M Jamini, MSF Jiribam founder president Shyamkumar Mutum and All Manipur Women Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) president Atom Rajia Chanu were present as guests of honour.
Most of the speakers at the event recalled the roles played by MSF since its inception and lauded the students' body.
During the event, past and present functionaries of MSF Jiribam district committee as well as media persons were honoured with presentation of simple gifts.
