MLA Meghachandra notes roles of youth

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) working president and Wangkhem AC MLA Keisham Meghachandra has stated that the youth play a key role in bringing about changes and development in a society, a state and a constituency.
He made the statement during a one-day discussion programme organised by 32-Wangkhem Youth Congress Committee at the community hall of Yairipok Bishnunaha Mayai Leikai on Wednesday.
The programme was held with Wangkhem Block Ma-hila Congress Committee president Konsam Kunja mani Devi, MPCC spokesperson Bhupendra Ningomba, Wangkhem Youth Congress Committee Md Ibomcha and social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram as presidium members.
Speaking on the topic of 'Role of Youth in Polities', MLA Meghachandra recounted the words of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru that the "Youth are the pillar of Nation", while adding that youth especially youth clubs play a key role in the development and improvement of the society, state, education, etc.
The young people are taking full advantage of the digital age and utilising social media platforms for their localities along withother issues of the state.
In politics too, the injection of young blood has been beneficial for the country, he added.
Social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram spoke on the topic of 'Youth in social Change' and explained about the steps that the youth need to take for the betterment of the state at present and also in the future.
