Ex-MLA Nasir accused of lying in affidavit

Independent candidate for the seat of Lilong assembly constituency Md Abdul Manan said that JD-U candidate ex-MLA Md Abdul Nasir is giving false information regarding his age in his election affidavit and he will take up legal actions against him irrespective of the election outcome.
Addressing a press meet at Lilong on Monday, Abdul Manan said that scrutiny of nomination papers for Lilong AC was conducted on Monday and the ex-MLA was found giving false information regarding his age in his affidavit.
He said that as per affidavits submitted by the ex-MLA in the past elections, his age was 34 in 2012,39 in 2017,42 in 2020 by-election, and now he is mentioning his age as 48 years in his affidavit for the ensuing election.
It is questionable how he has aged from 42 to 48 in just two years, he said.
Calling the ex-MLA of faking his age for reasons best known to him, he said that hiding identity and age of a candidate is illegal and punishable under IPC Section 191, 193, 195 and 199.An MLA of UP had also spent jail time for faking his age.
Besides, the details mentioned in the front and back sides of Abdul Nasir's Aadhaar card do not match.
He was also found to possess two PAN cards whereas only one PAN card can be allotted to a person, he said while adding that electing such frauds will bring nothing good to the constituency and its people.
