Thangmeiband candidates spell out agenda

The three candidates in Thangmeiband assembly constituency shared reason for contesting the election, developmental vision for the assembly and the state.
Janata Dal (United) candidate and sitting MLA Khumukcham Joykisan said that he is contesting election to fulfil the pending demands of the people as well as to end corruption.
He said re-elected the first task would be implementation of projects for betterment of the education sector especially government schools to facilitate education for children belonging to families below poverty line.
Sharing his vision, Joykisan stated that if JD (U) comes to power it strive to earn the trust of the public by working for the welfare of downtrodden.
BJP candidate Jyotin Waikhom said that he is contesting election to correct the wrongs in the system present in Manipur and as his thoughts are similar with the ideology of BJP.
He continued that if elected the priority will be towards reviving the PDS system in the AC along with creating transparency in the MLA Local Area Development Fund.
Jyotin also stated that his vision for Manipur is enhancing of the economy by using all its resources and working for resource mobilisation from various sectors.
Meanwhile, Congress candidate Hijam Nutanchandra said that Thangmeiband AC has been under developed as its MLA has remained in opposition and changed party frequently.
While stating that he is contesting the election as the AC needs a dynamic leadership, he also pledged to accord priority in creating employment opportunities for the youth of the constituency.
His vision for the state is improving the relationship between the hills and valley and implementing the demand for inclusion of Meitei/Meetei community in the Scheduled Tribe list, he conveyed.
