Observers take stock of poll preparedness, randomization of EVM & VVPATs conducted

The second randomization of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) for allocation of polling stations in all the six Assembly constituencies was carried out here on Monday at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner"s office.
All the process was done in the presence of election observers and representatives of political parties and election agents.
The entire randomization process was carried out through EVM Management System (EMS) software after which all EVMs were allotted to respective polling stations located in 6 Legislative Assembly segments.
After the randomization process, the EVMs and VVPATs were shifted to dedicated strong rooms located at the Old DC Office.

It may be mentioned that the first randomization was conducted on January 19, 2022 in the presence of political parties.
Meanwhile, DEO/DC of the district, PawanYadav also chaired a meeting in the afternoon with representatives of political parties and candidates of the 6 ACs in the presence of general observers and police observers.
At the meeting the DC urged all political parties and candidates to follow the guidelines of ECI and Covid-19 protocols and warned that any violation of Model Code of Conduct won"t be tolerated at any cost.
Later, the Observers appointed for the two districts also conducted a meeting with District Nodal Officers and deliberated on problems and progress.
SENAPATI
A similar meeting on poll preparedness was conducted at the DC Conference Hall today.
It was participated by General Observer Mohammed Ali Shihab, IAS, Police Observer K Narayan Naik, IPS and Expenditure Observer Uddaya Bhaskar Jakke, IRS along with District Election Officer, Senapati and all the Nodal Officers.
During the meeting, District Election Officer, Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS briefed the observers with a power point presentation about the poll preparation and steps taken up by the District Administration for free, fair, safe and peaceful Assembly Election 2022 .
Karthick Malladi, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Senapati also highlighted the security measures taken up for poll preparedness.
The General Observer said that all the election officials should work out together and give full effort to make repoll free elections in the district and urged the RO"s and ARO"s to personally visit the multi-polling station.
The meeting was attended by all the Nodal Officers, ROs and AROs.
Meanwhile, scrutiny for 3 ACs of Senapati District have been successfully completed today at respective ROs in Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati.
