DEO IW launches colour-coded T-shirts

District election officer/DC, Imphal West Th Kirankumar launched colour-coded T-shirts for the 13 Assembly Constituencies of Imphal West in the presence of General observers, Expenditure observer, Returning officers at the Gandhi Memorial Hall on Monday.
The T-shirt launch programme was held on the sidelines of a joint interaction between the DEO, observers, ROs with candidates and their election agents of Imphal West district to discuss various agenda related to the 12th State Assembly Election.
Additional DM Ng Jogendra said the colour coded T-shirts will be used during the implementation of Silent Dispersal System which will be used for the first time during transportation of polling personnel on the polling day.
T-shirts and vehicles with specific colour codes for each assembly constituency will be utilised for better communication and coordination during the dispersal of polling personnel, he said adding that this year no loudspeakers or public announcement systems will be used during the dispersal of polling personnel.
DEO Th Kirankumar explained the issue of Postal Ballots and said that there are three types of postal ballots.
The first type includes the PWDs and senior citizens (80+) for whom polling Jeams will visit iheir homes on February 21 and 22 in the first round for issuance and receive of postal ballots and for the second round on February 25.He said that the second type of postal ballots include the postal ballot (Electronically Transmitted) for Service Voters who are posted outside.
The third type of postal ballot is for those working in essential services and utilised in the election process.
General Observer 1 for Thangmeiband, Uripok and Patsoi AC, Jang Bahadur Yadav; General Observer-2 for Sagolband, Keishamthong and Singjamei AC, Lalzimavia Ghhangte; General Observer-3 for Sekmai, Lamsang, Konthoujam AC; General Observer-4 for Langthabal, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa, Wangoi and Mayang Imphal AC Ritendra Narayan Basu Roy Choudhury; and Police observer Kumar Gautam attended the meeting, during which election agents of several candidates raised their concerns and doubts which were cleared by the DEO and ROs concerned.
