The members of Shija's Board of Directors also spoke at the event, congratulating the students on their new beginning.
The students also undertook the Cadaveric Oath at the dissection Hall of Department of Anatomy.
This is a commitment that a medical student makes before touching a cadaver in order to underline the need for good cadaver handling.

Shija Academy of Health Sciences is the first home-grown private medical college in North-East India.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved the academy's initial capacity of 150 students per year at Health Village, Langol, Imphal, Manipur, said the Shija Hospitals & Research Institute in a press release.
