MLA Rameshwor to drag rival to court

National People's Party (NPP) candidate from Kakching AC for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election MLA M Rameshwor has said that he will file a case in the court against BJP candidate Y Surchandra for concealing information while filing nomination for the ensuring polls.
Rameshwor told media persons after joining scrutiny process for the March 5 second phase election at Thoubal DC complex on Monday that Surchandra should have submitted newspaper report, be it local or national, about a pending case relating to NSA taken up by the CBI against him in Form C-7 while filing the nomination paper but he concealed the same.
Apart from this, Y Surchandra while submitting nomination paper did not mention his appeal against the Supreme Court judgement on cancellation of his candidature in the 2017 election.
Y Surchandra also failed to mention; about purchasing a car on loan and its liability in Nomination Form 26, Rameshwor alleged.
According to Rameshwor, Y Surchandra even failed to mention the political party he is contesting election in his nomination paper.
Even though Returning Officer concerned could not decide on corrupt practices of Y Surchandra, a legal fight in the court will be initiated after the election for the sake of truth, he declared.
