State records one death, 92 fresh cases

Day after witnessing a dip in the test positivity rate (TPR) below 5 per cent, the TPR rose above 5 per cent on Monday with government bulletins reporting 92 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1609 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering a positivity rate of 5.72 per cent against Sunday's 4.90 per cent.
Monday also reported one fatality which took the death toll to 2084 .
The victim was a resident of Bishnupur district, who had received the second dose of Covid vaccine.
The virus has claimed lives of 179 vaccinated people of which 53 had received the second doses till date.
In the last 24 hours, 151 patients were discharged from home isolation (96), RIMS (4), JNIMS (9) and CCCs (42).The caseload came down to 2209 out of which 509 (23.04 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 244 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 112 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, three did not report any fresh Covid cases on Monday.
So far, the state has recorded 10,142 positive cases and 82 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 2674 new positive cases and 38 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 920 and 18 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 92 fresh cases (50 male & 42 female) are from among the general population whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (5), JNIMS (9) and other testing centres (78) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (19), Imphal West (36), Thoubal (9), Bishnupur (9), Kakching (2), Kangpokpi (1), Tamenglong (6), Tengnoupal (1), Ukhrul (1), Noney (1), Senapati (3), Chandel (2) and Churachandpur (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,35,930 (general population - 1,30,933 and CAPF personnel - 4,997) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,31,637 (general population - 1,26,710 and CAPF personnel - 4,927) and number of active cases is 2209 (general population - 2146 and CAPF personnel-63).The recovery rate climbed up to 96.84 per cent.
A total of 302 D-type and 67 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 2560 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 14,85,325, out of which 10,96,169 had received second doses and 49,796 had taken precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,316), Imphal East (30,188), Thoubal (10,068), Churachandpur (11,000), Kangpokpi (3096), Tamenlong (3446), Bishnupur 9726), Senapati (2453), Ukhrul (3206), Kakching (6826), Chandel (2673), Noney (1144), Tengnoupal (1183), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1031) and Pherzawl (465).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (696), Imphal East (501), Thoubal (186), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (66), Tamenglong (15), Bishnupur (201), Senapati (11), Ukhrul (49), Kakching (120), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,806 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,433 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,00,836 tests per million population against the national average of 5,36,260 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.53 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1609 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 5.72 per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 8.75 per cent.
