Medical camps held in Kamjong, Tengnoupal

Imphal, January 09 2023:
Shangshak and Tengnoupal battalions of IGAR (South) conducted medical camps at Pushing and Sita villages in Kamjong and Tengnoupal districts respectively on Monday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the camps were organised since the locals don't have access to any medical facilities in nearby area as the villages are situated far from the district HQs, where the basic medical facilities are available.
At Pushing village, a total of 248 villagers including 104 women and 73 children from Pushing proper and nearby villages were examined and provided with medicines.
The camp at Sita village proved beneficial for 242 villagers who were diagnosed, provided medical advice and medicines me ant for common disease.
A lecture was also delivered on educat ing the villagers on paediatric diseases during the winters and prevention from the same.
The initiative by Assam Rifles has been viewed as a genuine step towards addressing the basic health-care needs of the villagers, said the PRO, adding that the villagers applauded the efforts of the Assam Rifles as it will improve the mutual trust and hel p maintain peace and harmony in the region.
