189th death anniversary of Maharaj Gambhir Singh observed

Awapali Khubam Ningsing Lup, Kamrangga today observed the 189th death anniversary of Maharaj Gambhir Singh at Kamrangga, Cachar district, Assam.
It was attended by Social Welfare Minister, Government of Manipur, Heikham Dingo Singh; Awapali Khubam Ningsing Lup president, Saikhom Manihoman Singha; Manipuri Development Council (MDC), Government of Assam chairman, Reena Singha; United Committee Manipur consultative committee member, Khomdram Ratan; AMMPAL chairman, Beni Mishra; G College, Silchar retired professor Th Babachandra Singha; social worker Nameirakpam Budhachandra Singh; United Committee Manipur (UCM) general secretary, Ng Dev; United People Front (UPF) Manipur advisor, L Jadumani; United Club Organisation (UCO) president Khaidem Kanta; and social worker Kamal Uddin as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Heikham Dingo Singh recalled the heroic efforts and sacrifices made by the forefathers for the motherland.
He also encouraged the present generation to pay respect to their ancestors and follow their teachings.
Later, the Minister visited Leng Ondabi Pat in Narabin, Cachar district and paid floral tribute to the late King, who spearheaded the war against the Burmese invaders to liberate Manipur.
Co-ordination Committee Awapali Khubam Ningsing Lup, convenor Seram Herajit extended his appreciation to Heikham Dingo for paying tribute at Leng Ondabi Pat and inspecting the area.
Moreover, All Assam Manipuri Muslim Students' Union (AAMMSU) also observed "Chahi Taret Khuntakpa Ningsingnumit" under the theme, "Reconciliation of Seven Years Devastation" at Royal Public H..SSchool in Singerbond, Cachar district, Assam today.
It was attended by Abdul Habib Chaudhury, general secretary AAMMSU; Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh, principal, Lilong Haoreibi College; Basir Ahmed, North East Pangal Association (NEPA), Assam Unit and Ziaul Islam Chaudhury, chairman Manipuri Muslim Citizen Forum (MMCF) as presidium members.
