Imphal, June 02 2023:
Expressing concern over con-tinuous violence even in the presence of union home minister Amit Shah in the state, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) demanded the union home minister to take up strict measures to quell the violence.
Addressing a press meet at the party office here on Wednesday, AAP state ac-tivities coordinator Sagolsem Bankim-chandra said that the government has failed to control the situation.
He also contended that Prime Minister Naren-dra Modi is remaining silent over the situation and Amit Shah undermining the demand for termination of So0 agreement.
Joining the media briefing, AAP state coordinator Th Bishwanath stressed the need for a joint meeting of all the stakeholders in order to control the situation and restore peace.
Even if it is tough to subdue the violence over-night, the union home minister should ensure re-opening of National Highway 2 during his visit, which will be the first step in restoring peace, he said.
