Relief materials distributed, health camp conducted

Sub Divisional Hospital Moreh and District Health Society Tengnoupal today jointly organised free health camps at different relief camps opened in Thoubal district.
Free health camps were conducted at the relief camps opened in Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex, SK Leikai Community Hall, Lamding Higher Secondary School and Pioneer Club Wangjing.
A team led by SDH Moreh, Medical Superintendent, Dr Cecil Ahongshangbam provided medical care and medicines to the people who have been displaced by the ongoing conflict and are taking shelter at the relief camps.
Speaking to media persons, Dr Cecil informed that medical care for Mental Health, Non Communicable Disease, Diabetes and Hypertension were provided to the inmates along with free medicine.
She also appealed to the inmates to immediately contact the SDH Moreh in case of any medical emergency or complication.
It may be mentioned that the medical team also extended a monetary aid of Rs 15000 each to four relief camps to help the people who are taking shelter there.
Moreover, to help the people taking shelter at various shelter camps, Mingle Club (MC), Lilong Chajing Awang Lekai, provided relief materials to the shelter camps opened at Langmeidong Higher Secondary School, Elangkhangpokpi, Lamjao, Pangaltabi, Tangjeng Khunou, Sugnu, Sekta, Uyumpok and Taret Khul on May 31 and June 1 .
The relief items included rice, dal, potato, ngari, chilli, sugar, edible oil, sanitary pads and cerelac.
In a release, MC also appealed to the Government to implement NRC in Manipur and cancel Suspension of Operation (SoO) with militant groups to bring lasting peace & harmony in the State.
