AZSU (AMN) convenes consultative meet

The All Zeliangrong Students' Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland), yesterday organised a consultative meeting in connection to the present situation of Manipur and Zeliangrong political issue at Tarung, Imphal.
In a release, AZSU (AMN) informed that the meeting attended by many senior Zeliangrong student leaders and activities deliberated about the prevailing situation of Manipur.
"The life-line of Manipur, the National Highways have been disturbed; markets have been closed and business establishments have been temporarily paralysed; schools, colleges and offices have been shut down due to the ongoing crisis", it added.
The student union also asserted that the banning of internet services in the State has added to the suffering of the public as every life supporting system depends on this facility.
"The banning of internet facilities goes against the Fundamental Rights of Indian citizens.
The Right to Freedom mentioned in Article 19th of Indian Constitution", it added.
AZSU (AMN) appealed to the Government of Manipur and authorities concerned to restore internet service in the State and exercise Law & Order in full scale to protect the vulnerable people from any harm & danger.
"Zeliangrong community welcomes any peace initiative taken by the Government and will extend our fullest cooperation to bring an early solution and restore peace & tranquillity in Manipur", it added.
AZSU (AMN) also reminded all concerned that any solution which will disintegrate the traditional Zeliangrong territories will not be accepted at any cost.
