Separately, Manipur Industrial Development Corporation Limited (MANIDCO) Chairman and MLA of Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency Kongkham Robindro and Wangoi AC MLA Khuraijam Loken distributed relief materials at Sugnu relief camp yesterday.
The two MLAs went on the relief extension visit to tend to the needs of the relief camp inmates who have fled their villages in Serou and Sugnu after coming under attack by suspected Kuki militants.
Speaking in this connection, the two MLAs assured the distressed citizens that they will give an account of the hardships and suffering faced by the people to the Chief Minister and appeal for deployment of additional security forces to ensure their safety.
Stating that the ongoing conflict is most unfortunate, the two maintained that the State Government is undertaking all measures to bring peace and normalcy into the State.
Further, they called upon the public to cooperate with the Government's efforts.
An inmate at Sugnu relief camp by the name of Ibemcha has claimed that efforts to retrieve the bodies of four people who were killed in the shower of bullets fired by Kuki militants at Serou and Sugnu have proved to be futile so far.
At this juncture, we condemn the State Government's act of turning a blind eye to this situation, she said.
