7 bodies picked up from Sugnu-Serou area

Imphal, June 02 2023:
Security forces have picked up and deposited the mortal remains of seven persons who reportedly got killed in the arson and gun fights which broke out at Sugnu-Serou in the last week of May at the mortuary of JNIMS, today.
It is reported that four bodies were picked up from Sugnu-Serou road near the designated camp of UKLF while two others were taken up from Langching.
One more corpse was picked up from a Kuki village near Sugnu public ground.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed but it has been ascertained that four of them are Meiteis while the other three are Kukis.
The corpses were picked up by a combined team of Manipur commandos and BSF and another team of Assam Rifles and State commandos.
It is said that the bodies couldn't be collected earlier due to security reason.
