A diamond jubilee celebration of Mollen Kamsei Youth Club, Ukhrul district, has kicked off today with the unveiling of the jubilee stone christened Mollen Kamsei Women's Union Jubilee Stone and inauguration of the Haokhosei memorial hall.
The inaugural cum jubilee flag hoisting programme was attended by Lhungtin village chief David Hangsing, Mollen Kamsei village chief Ngulkhokao Haolai, Haolai Phungpi president Alun Haolai, Khomunnom village chief Thanglenmang Hangshing, Ukhrul ADC Chairman John Raleng, KCC (M) moderator Pr J Lunkim, ICHAM president N Rajendro and other dignitaries.
Speaking at the occasion, Ukhrul ADC Chairman John Raleng emphasised on the need to live in harmony irrespective of community and other differences.
Mollen Kamsei village chief Ngulkhokao Haolai said that the villagers have been contributing collectively for the overall development of the village.
Expressing gratitude to the State Government for initiating developmental schemes in the village, the village chief added that four houses have been constructed in Mollen Kamsei under the Government's scheme.
While addressing the gathering, ICHAM president N Rajendro urged the State Government to address the issue of poor connectivity in the remote areas of hill districts.
Rajendro added that ICHAM has been consulting with the Mollen Kamsei village chief in order to complete construction of the youth club office by April this year.
Various cultural programmes were also presented as a part of the diamond jubilee celebration which would continue till February 4 .
