Kwatha PHSC gets OPD facility

For the first time in their lives, villagers of Kwatha availed out-patient department treatment at its primary health sub centre after the facility was launched there today, the first Sunday of the month.
The unprecedented OPD service was carried out at the PHSC from 10 am to 1 pm under the supervision of the medical officer-in-charge of Moreh PHC, Dr Th Santikumar.
Around 80 inhabitants of the village including many minors turned up for free medical treatment and received free medicines.
Kwatha village which is settled entirely by the Meiteis is located in Moreh sub-division of Chandel district at a distance of seven kilometers from Kwatha Lamkhai along the NH 102 .
Chief of Kwatha village Ningthoujam Kamal expressed his gratefulness to medical director O Ibomcha for sending the medical team and opening OPD facility with the distribution of medicines without incurring any cost.
He stated that the positive response from the authority will benefit the sick people of Kwatha and neighbouring villages.
While appreciating the commencement of OPT service on the first Sunday of the month, appeals for repetition of the same service on the last Sunday of the month were forwarded.
The medical team comprised of Dr Santikumar, Dr T Sujata, also of Moreh PHC, and staffs of the centre.
