Janata Dal (United), Manipur State in an emergency executive body meeting today decided to take out rallies in different parts of the State against the excesses meted out by Central security forces.
Apart from the matter of strengthening party organisation, the meeting also discussed issues like drug smuggling, fake encounter and non-issuance of arrest memo, said a statement.
A team of party State unit would leave Imphal to submit a detailed report on these issues to the Union Home Minister within this week.
Quoting party State unit president M Tombi, the statement said that Central security forces are doing whatever they wish under the cover of AFSPA in the State.
He alleged that many of the Central security forces personnel are involved in drug smuggling and fake encounters.
Tombi said that Assam Rifles troops had recently gunned down two persons in a fake encounter at Kadangband on January 28.They are also giving unnecessary harassment to travellers including VIPs at Tengnoupal on NH-102, he added.
Pledging support to people's movement in this regard, M Tombi said that a team of Janata Dal (U) Manipur State would meet the Central leaders of the parties of Janata family within this week.
