TKLI condemns 'murder' in Goa

Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal (TKLI) on Sunday strongly condemned the brutal murder of Chongamla Christina Fernandes, wife of Savio Fernandes in Goa.
TKLI in a press release isued by General Secretary Ninglum KS reminded that the 33-year-old Chongamla was found dead on January 22 inside her room with injuries mark on her head, throat and abdomen.
Her life was cut short unceremoniously, said TKLI and termed the incident as "barbarous and inhumane" .
"Such acts are highly unbecoming of a civilised and democratic society.
We strongly abhor and condemn such acts", said the organisation.
TKLI urged the responsible authority to investigate the case and give befitting punishment to the culprit to ensure justice.
The mortal remains of Chongamla was on Thursday finally laid to rest in Imphal after an emotional public condolence service attended by a host of Tribal social organisations.
