Patriotic Writers Forum celebrates Foundation Day

Patriotic Writers' Forums (PWF) on Sunday began its 10-day celebration of its 7th Foundation Day at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.
On the first day of the celebration, Mobita Mongjam's poetry collection 'Cheklagi Kaidongpham' was released.

Delivering the key note speech Ramesh Naorem, Secretary Patriotic Writers Forum, said publication of poetry; organising seminars and honouring poets are some of the activities of the forum.
Prof.Joykumar Meetei Laishram observed that there is lack of readers who could buy books even if many books were published in Manipur.
Ideas embedded in Manipuri literature cannot be translated into other languages like Hindi and English, completely, he said.
However, if efforts are made to translate, though painstakingly, large sections of readers can have access to the literary content of the writers.
At the same time, he said, writers must also make an effort to write in different genres which could reflect the feelings of the younger generation.
