Increase seat intake for Class XI: MPDF to Govt

Highlighting the inconveniences faced by students in getting admission to Class XI in government schools, Manipur People's Democratic Front (MPDF) has urged state government and education department to increase seat intake capacity of government schools for Class XI.
Speaking to media persons in this regard at Manipur Press Club here on Sunday, MPDF secretary Sapam Samungou noted that 47,208 students passed the HSLC exam conducted by BSEM this year.
In addition to this, thousands of students passed Class X examination under CBSE.
As many students have passed the class X examination this year, students are facing lots of inconveniences in getting admission to Class XI in government school's, he noted.
Urging education department to increase seat intake capacity for Class XI in government schools so as to mitigate the problems faced by the students, Samungou also called for reviving government schools along with developing required infrastructure in tune with the changing times.
